There is nothing more satisfying than turning up to your Christmas party feeling a million dollars, and good hair is the ultimate key. Of course the celebrities always look red carpet-ready and, yes, they have an army of stylists, but we've picked some of best party season celebrity styles which we think are easy enough to recreate at home.

The key to getting a good style to last is to prep the hair before styling. Add your mousse, serum, heat protecting spray, and always keep pins at the ready to pin back loose strands and tidy up wayward ends. We may be going through the recession but it doesn't mean you can't be creative, so play with these styles and add accessories and jewels where you can.

Happy partying!

We certainly have the Monday morning blues today - where did the weekend go? And when we spotted this picture of the stunning Penelope Cruz we had a serious case of hair envy too. Tumbling curls, a glossy A-list finish and a cutesy hair clip... we want!

Penelope proves that even though we may wear our hair loose every day it doesn't hurt to go the extra mile and add a few curls, waves and a hair accessory to spruce up the look. Simply spending a few extra minutes adding the odd curl to your hair each morning to give it more body and gloss on these drab winter days. Nothing does it quicker than the BaByliss Straight To Curl irons, by the way, which I am currently using every morning. Then add a hair clip to, nonchalantly, pin one side up and you will feel ready to face even the wettest winter day.

The ‘less is more' look is definitely a style we love, but Penelope reminds us that it still takes a little effort to do... and when it looks this good it's definitely worth it.
